Knitted statement clutch
[Step by step tutorial]
This a great example of what you can do with all the leftovers from your previous knitting projects. I had a box full with all kinds of small wool balls and it drove me nuts what they were wasted like that. Originally it supposed to be an oversized beanie but during the process the weather in Berlin changed so rapidly (thanks to the global warming) that I had to go with a motley clutch. Although the knitted bag still can keep your hands warm in case the global warming changes it’s mind ;). You don’t know how to knit? Go ask your granny.
Throw all your wool balls into a box and twist the threads into one bigger thread. |
Knit a longer piece. |
Close the sides with a wool needle and thick wool thread. Turn the clutch inside out. |
Construct a leather cover based on the measurements of your clutch. Punch holes along the back edge. |
Attach the cover to the back of your clutch by using the wool needle and thick thread. |
Attach the closure to the bag. |
Voilà! |
