DIY Statement necklace made of embroidered trim
[Step by Step sewing tutorial]
So in today’s DIY tutorial I show you how you can create a victorian looking statement necklace. For my jewelry I used middle thick electric green suede leather, but you can use all sort of thick materials like felt or faux leather. In my local Hobby shop I’v got the embroidered trim, fabric glue, and satin ribbon. Enjoy and be creative…
what you need
Give the trim an oval shape by ironing it with steam |
Trim the edges |
Put the glue on the outside |
Attach the trim to the fabric of your choice |
Cut out around the trim |
The coins make the necklace heavier. That way the necklace doesn’t spin around the neck. I hate that! Maake sure the coins aren’t too big. You should be able to stitch around them with the sewing machine |
Attach the front part to the material |
Stitch along the trim |
Cut out the necklace |
To avoid the fraying put some transparent nail polish/hardener to the satin ribbon edges |
So beautiful |
